When you come to the South Side Irish Parade on Sunday or the downtown Irish parade on Saturday, and you happen to notice the Stock Yark Kilty Band parading by, take notice of the short field drummer in the middle with the long sideburns and dark hair. Mine is Sean's Rino Bar or the Dubliner farther down Western Avenue. If it's with the family, the east side of the corner of 113th Street so you can sit with your cooler and chair and not be bothered by Chicago's finest.

Come to the South Side Irish Parade in Chicago and be one of the many partiers on Western Avenue between 99th Steet and 115th Steet. Come and see drummer Mike Reda play in the Stockyard Inn Kilty Band, the oldest pipes band in the US. I'll be the one at 113th place on the east side across from the funeral home with my cooler handing out Harps and Guiness to anyone who mentions this blog. Pat

St.Pat's in Emmetsburg, IA!!! Party Time Baby!!!

Below is a link to the Emmetsburg St. Pat's Celebration website. I've lived here 8 years now and I have to tell you, it's a party not to be missed!!! Our timy little town gets over run with merry makers and a drunk time is had by most!!! We live walking distance from the bars, so we generally have a large group of friends that stay with us for the weekend. I'm probably the only sober person running around uptown, but so far I've kept our guests out of jail!!! The police agencies are pretty laid back during the celebration weekend, as long as you don't make a total ass out of yourself, you can generally stay out of trouble. There is a drunk bus that takes you to the bars, it runs til the bars close, it free and fun!! The parade is great, and if you enjoy a whole lot of other activities, besides the bars, theres tons of stuff to do!!! So check out the site and hope to see you here!!! "SLAINTE!!"

I missed it

I was at the Southside Irish parade yesterday. Missed the thing. The ENTIRE fucking thing. Usually I see a litte bit of it. But I didn't see shit. My happy ass talked to a buch of other random drunks. Got a (business card) pic of a nekked fellow. Showered everyone with hugs n kisses. Went to an afterparty. Passed out there for about an hour.

Oh oh oh. And I got a called a God for drinking Jack and coke. Apparently it was pretty strong. Can't say I noticed, that's how I always drink the shit.

Outside of my birthday and Christmas, parade day is my most favorited day of the year.

2 more days until I celebrate my heritage yet again.

Am I wrong or is St. Josephs Day a Polish day? Someone said it was Italian. Either way, I'm celebrating more of my heritage on Friday. Vodka.

What are YOU drinking?

I'm a drunk so I was just thinking about this.

Last year, my sisters ex had made some sort of concoction. She remembered there being Captain involved and I remembered there being Jack involved.So we figured it was some sort of Captain/Jack/Coke mix. Too bad he's psycho now and we can't confirm it.

I'll likely be drinking that again. Plus, I'll fill my flask with something I can do shots with. Probably something light like a Schnapps of sorts.

*That* will be for the SS parade. As far as the day itself goes. . .since I'll be at my not-so-local weekly bar . . .it'll definately be beer. Probably splitting pitchers with mah girls as usual.

Velcome to my tribe about the greatest holiday ever!

Plans for this year are probably similar to those from the past years. . .head on out to the Southside Irish parade (SS of Chitown for outsiders) get drunk within an hour. Harass people, make new friends. Continue drinking. Bitch about no bathrooms. See if you can find a house that charges a buck (no nature squats for me). Drink some more. Go back to friends apt. Get food. Complain about loud noise and try to sleep. Realize attempt will not be successful. Drink some more. Go home and knock out for a few hours. . .

I think that's how it goes, I cannot be completely sure, though.
